10 things i learnt this weekend

1. Some people seriously have no boundaries!
2. (as old as I sound) You should only be "friends" with people on fb that you are actually "friends" with. haha! Oh, and for sure have privacy settings!
3. Being a parent really makes you more aware of things (and so protective)!
4. I've enjoyed Josh being home with Ella Jane and I so much this week (for spring break). I'm pretty sad that he has to go back to work tomorrow. :/ Plus, it's such a big help him being here with us. He's even made the bed all week. Yayy!
5. I wish I would've went ahead and ordered Ella Jane's Easter basket this year.
6. She wasn't being very cooperative for her pictures today (haha)! Not cooperative at all actually. :) She kept falling over (as Josh yelled "timber"!)! Or she was chewing/sucking on the bunny.
7. Josh and I went to church with grandmother. She was so cute showing Ella Jane off.
8. Afterwards we met my family at Outback for Easter and to celebrate Mamaw's birthday. There just isn't enough of Ella Jane to go around. She is so loved!
9. Mamaw loved her framed picture we got her of Ella Jane and the Easter Bunny!
10. Speaking of...the Easter Bunny was at Chick-Fil-A on Saturday morning! Josh and I took Ella Jane. She didn't cry at all (you know those pictures of babies who are crying/scared to death)! Not our girl. :)

NOT COOL!

OK, so this evening I had a Facebook scare! Well, not really a scare (I was more just creeped out)! As I was scrolling down my newsfeed, all of a sudden I noticed that someone had "shared" Ella Jane's pictures (like 7 or 8 pictures)! Keep in mind, the person who "shared" them isn't really a "friend" of mine. She's more of an acquaintance. Not only had she "shared" Ella Jane's pictures (which was weird enough), but she had also tagged someone in them. Someone I DO NOT KNOW! Well, immediately I message her about it, asking her why. And she gives me a really weird reason. Her friend is having a baby girl soon, and she wanted her to see how cute Ella Jane is (blah blah)! I appreciate that and all. But NO! Do not share my child's pictures if I don't know you really well. But I'm kinda glad it happened, because it made me realize just how "out there" things are on fb! I never really thought about that, until now. Now that I have a daughter. But since I don't want to completely stop putting pictures up of Ella Jane, I realized it was time to use the "delete" button. I had like 700 "friends". Needless to say, after deleting people who I'm not actually "friends" with, that number went waaaaayyyy down! Like 300 people down. No joke! I would advise everyone to do this too (man I sound old)! But seriously. haha! Or at least set some major privacy settings. I know I have!

Heartbreaking Story

Tonight I'm feeling so sad for a young girl from CC (only 15 years old) whose fighting a battle with cancer. The whole CC community has pulled together to show her love tonight! Her story is just so heartbreaking! Ugh! It's really made me realize how precious and fragile life is. I'm gonna be holding onto Ella Jane and Josh a little closer tonight.

10 things I learnt this weekend -anniversary edition

1. We think Ella Jane is lactose intolerant. So she is currently on soy milk. And feeling so much better. :)
2. My mom and Mamaw came over Friday. We all had lunch and shopped. (my mom got the organic bloom frames at hobby lobby for ella janes pics- they are gorgeous)! Then mom took Ella Jane home with her. First time we had been away from her for 2 nights!
3. Speaking of, being away from Ella Jane for that long was a lot. We missed her so much! We can get a lot done, but it just doesn't feel right her not being here with us.
4. Josh and I made it to our one-year anniversary! And i loved our celebration day!
5. Josh loved his Kings Island tix! We l've already been talking about a good time to go. ;) we loooove roller coasters!
6. My present didn't arrive in time, but josh got me a Red Bone watch (like the one he wears- but not as bulky)!!!!! He showed it to me online; it's so cute! I can't wait to get it.
7. Josh had me believing he was taking me to Bonefish for dinner (our first date restaurant). But he surprised me BIG and actually took me to Ruth's Chris!!!!
8. Our meal was delicious! The steaks were incredible. And our FREE strawberry cheesecake topped it off nicely! Of course having my handsome man there by my side was incredible too!
9. Our one year old wedding cake was still really really good. I was so surprised. I had josh take the first bite, thinking it would be totally gross! But it wasn't at all.
10. Going on 40 is a good movie, but kinda dirty.
11. Ella Jane is crazy over Baby's First on demand television!! She was just staring at it when i picked her up from mom and dads this morning! Haha!

one-year anniversary

Well, we made it through our first year! Today, Josh and I are celebrating our one-year anniversary! People say the first one is the hardest, right? (I know I'VE said this before), but I really hope that's true. This year has been so fun! And seriously...not hard at all! And believe me, we've been through a whirl wind. Such a blessed whirlwind. I'm SO extremely happy these days. I've thought a lot about this past year (as people do on anniversaries, birthdays, new years)...it's fun remembering like that. And honestly, everything from this last year is all so wonderful. A few highlights:
1. Being in Hawaii with my main man! Ziplining, 4-wheeling, laying on the beach, seeing the turtles and volcanoes, sitting pool side, the beach, the sunsets, hiking and exploring, the food, and waterfalls (ahhh, needless to say, I dream of going back there someday)!
2. We lived in 2 places at once when we got back from Hawaii. My rent wasn't quite up, so we lived at my apartment and the condo for a month. I didn't like that. So happy that didn't last long. haha!
3. The day Josh and I talked about babies (on a serious note), and how we didn't want to wait very long. Boy, we weren't joking, were we?!
4. Asking Josh how he was going to like being called "Dad". How excited we were that evening!! We couldn't wait one minute before we started spreading the word to our family and close friends! I'm glad I hadn't came up with some sort of cutesy way to tell everyone. Cause we really couldn't have waited.
5. Finally seeing Savannah! It was pouring the rain, but there's nothing more romantic (for me) than strolling around old cities, like Savannah and Charleston. I especially liked the candy shop in Savannah. :)
6. "It's a GIRL"! I knew it from the very beginning! :) Ella Jane was on her way. I think that was the quietest Josh had ever been while eating out for lunch. I guess I was too. That's the day it all got real, for the both of us! I'll never forget that sweet day.
7. Registering for Ella Jane! Man, we were clueless as to what all we needed! But Josh sure did go to town on that scanner! Just like he did when we were working on our wedding registry! haha!
8. Picking out our first Christmas tree! Josh and I had big plans for him chopping one down on his own, but of course that didn't happen. haha!
9. Our precious Ella Jane being born (the biggest highlight of all)! Josh was such a trooper, really coaching me through it! I started looking at him in a whole new way that night. And loved him even more! I'll never forget her FINALLY arriving! So much emotion and love that night. And Josh running back and forth to Ella Jane and then to me, and then back to Ella Jane...
10. Josh had to cut off Ella Jane's onesie, while I kept her still. She had a major poop explosion that there was no way to recover from! LOL! Josh had on the big yellow cleaning gloves, we were gagging and laughing at the same time. It was such a funny and priceless moment that first time parents go through. I wish I had a picture!

*I could seriously go on forever with moments from our first year of marriage! That's one of the  wonderful things about Josh. There's hardly a dull moment. My mom and I laugh and say he is a "one man show". He really is! haha! He is constantly surprising me in the best of ways, and keeps me so happy. Even my mamaw is constantly telling me how lucky I am to have him. I really am. I love him more than anything in this world. And wouldn't trade this life of ours for a million dollars. It's just perfect! Happy Anniversary, Josh! One down and forever to go! :)

ONE YEAR!!

This week, I'm trying to plan for mine and Josh's ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It's hard to believe we've been married for a year...the wedding (and Hawaii) seems like yesterday. Then, again, it seems like ages ago. We've had a big year! A really great year, for sure! I'm not sure how we are celebrating yet. Josh has planned the night out, but he won't tell me what he's planned. He just said to dress nice, and to make sure Ella Jane has a place to stay (mom and dad are going to watch her for us). This year, it being our first, is the "Paper Anniversary". So, for gifts, we are suppose to give each other something that is on paper. Even though that narrows things down quite a bit, I've still wrecked my brain trying to think of something that is "paper" related but also something Josh will really love. And I FINALLY got it!! (i'll let you know what i've come up with later)...It's actually something I'm going to love too. ;) Another great thing about marriage, gifts can benefit you as well. ;) So happy God made Josh for me, and so thankful to be living out this life of ours!

10 things I learnt this weekend

1. Ella Jane and I loved Jack and Jules consignment! We got some adorable things!
2. Janice's baby shower was so fun. She got lots of things for her little Tuck.
3. Josh and I enjoyed our date night. We went out to eat with the boys and traci and then came home and watched twilight, yes again. Haha! I think I have josh liking it now. ;)
4. I got lots of low carb food ideas off Pinterest. But I'm still not looking forward to the post pregnancy diet I'm starting!
5. Ella Jane has a cold so she has been pretty fussy this weekend. Ugh!
6. I go back to work in 5 weeks! 5 weeks! I already know how hard this will be.
7. I'm ready for a haircut. A good hair cut. Dun dun dun!
8. My old friend, Patrick, got married this weekend. Stephanie said it was an old barn wedding like I would like. Happy for him!
9. I'm going to start a tally sheet of how many times I put Ella janes paci back in her mouth. Haha! There's seriously no telling.
10. Josh and I need to decide what church we are going to Easter. I really wish we had a home church.
11. Downton Abbey is my new favorite show. Mom has gotten me soooo hooked!

2 month shots...

Today has been rough. Ella Jane had her 2 month shots and needless to say, she wasn't a happy camper. I've never heard her cry like that. And for all you mommies out there, you know how hard it is to hear your baby cry. It's the worst. Here's a pre shot/pre doctor picture and an after shot pic. :/ since we got home, she has slept a lot. Bless her little heart

10 things I learnt this weekend

1. Weekends are my favorite! I love just spending time with Josh and Ella Jane!
2. My friend Stephanie is a life saver. She'll be watching Ella Jane a few days a week (for a few weeks) while I'm at work and until mom finishes up with her work! Thanks friend!
3. Ella Jane is a wonderful sleeper! I'm talking 8 and 9 hours a night! Ahhh
4. I can't believe she is 2 months old! My baby is getting older too fast.
5. We have laughed so hard at her 2 month pictures. Lol. Mom and I were laughing until we were crying last night. My girl is so stinking cute.
6. Thank goodness mom was able to watch Ella Jane so I could do some serious cleaning Friday night. I also changed some things around. It's crazy what a difference that can make.
7. Traci has the sweetest and cutest sis in law. She is the one who did my trunk show. We all met at silver spoon for lunch before hand, such a good time!
8. My first trunk show was a success!
9. Stella & Dot jewelry is super cute. And I got $150 worth of free stuff for hosting a party. Yeah!
10. Janie is still in the hospital but doing a lot better!!
11. My friend BJ is having a baby girl!

Hospital

This week has been really crazy. Josh's mom had quite a scare and we were all reminded of how fragile life is. Look at the picture of ella jane, josh, and larry! this was taken at the hospital while we were waiting news. Melts my heart! So happy to have my family all healthy tonight, and close by.

Mom and I went to the Picky Chic tonight. It's not nearly as good as duck duck goose, but we found Ella Jane the most adorable smocked dresses! Like $100 dresses for like $4!! We lucked up. One of them I think she'll wear for Easter. :) being a mommy is so fun. Hehe!

I'm hosting my first trunk show/jewelry show this weekend! Pretty excited. But I have lots of cleaning to do before then (which I'm not excited about)!

I have to wear my child...

Finally getting some use out of this carrier though. But boo to acid reflux!

10 Things I learnt this weekend

1. Ella Jane stayed the night up in b.berry for the first time with Josh's parents. I almost cried when she left. :( 2. Even though we miss Ella jane when she isn't here (it doesn't feel right with out her here), Josh and I are thankful to have parents that love taking her on Friday nights so we can have a little break. And time to ourselves. 3. My husband is so sweet. He went out to the "ghetto Wal-Mart" at midnight to buy Twilight. Of course, the line was out the door, so he didn't actually get it. But it's the fact that he tried. 4. We got a really nice surprise on the way to BBerry to get Ella Jane...sNOW! Huge snowflakes, it was absolutely gorgeous up there. 5. I love the crock pot recipe book my mom got me (it has really helped me to fix something new every week). So far I've managed bbq sandwiches, chicken and broccoli fettucini, and hot lava cake. Super easy stuff. And really good. 6. Josh and I did finally get to watch Twilight Saturday night! Ella Jane watched it with us! Well, she slept as I rocked her, but it was a nice little family movie night. Josh and I both agree that this last Twilight is the best one. 7. Ella Jane LOVES the new bed I got her. We put it beside our bed, and she sleeps 6 hours straight (I think she'd sleep through the night, but I always wake her up to feed her after 6 hours.) I know this is a big no no - in the mommy world. You never wake up a baby in the middle of the night. But until she is a little older, it just scares me to let her go too long with out eating (especially with her acid reflux)! 8. Speaking of acid reflux. Ella Jane's is a lot better. However, she has been really needy lately. Wanting us to hold her all the time, and cries when we don't. So Josh and I are wondering if she might still be a little uncomfortable with the reflux.?? Maybe her meds need to be adjusted a tad? 9. Two shows came on last night that I wanted to watch. Walking Dead (of course)...and The Bible. I didn't get to watch either. Ella Jane wasn't having it last night. haha! 10. Once Upon a Child has a display up in their store of Ella Jane. I can't wait to see it tomorrow. :)

B97.5's Cutie of the Month

Ella Jane won B97.5's Cutie Pie of the Month contest! I'm pretty excited to go on the $100 shopping spree to Once Upon A Child. It came just in time, too. Her newborn clothes are fitting a little tight these days. :) Check out the link below to see my little "cutie"! http://www.b975.com/contests/cutie-pie-month
