memorial day

"A cluttered mind can prevent new, happy thoughts from finding a space to stay."

Hey blogaroos! Happy Memorial Day! I know I should've been out on the lake, or lounging by the pool today. But I have had sooooo much energy, I had to do somethinggg wi it. :) I cleaned my apartment, my car {yes, my car - first time in years haha}. I've sent out resumes galore.

One things for sure, I'm definitely not a hoarder. Something about throwing things away makes me feel reallyy guuuud!! Haha! As I was cleaning my car out, I kept throwing away all of this trash {yes, my car was that bad *laughs*}. Which is actually really weird because I'm basically a clean freak. But anyway, it felt so good throwing all of that trash away. To have a clean apartment, a clean car, it's a good feeling. Clean slate..i likes it a lot!

I know that I sound like a broken record, but I really want to do something else besides teaching for a while. This is a thought that completely consumes my thoughts, so that's why I keep talking about it. I just keep thinking that a career can wait, right? How awesome would it be to live somewhere different for a while? Charleston, Washington DC, Baltimore, Maine,Cap Cod, or maybe even Nashville. Hmmm...

Not having a job+single+basically young = a window of opportunity.

10 {well,more like 15} things I learnt this weekend

1. It pays to go shopping w my mamaw! :)
2. It's so nice sitting out on the deck and talking "life" w my mum and the pupsters. It always makes me feel better.

4. Sometimes ice cream can save the day.
5. Chaco straps are almost impossible to adjust {at least for me *laughs*}
6. I might be obsessed with the carmel frappes from McDonald's.
7. I want to do something totally out of the ordinary! I just don't know exactly what...yet.
8. I want a job that is totally carefree, and fun for a while. I can always go back to teaching - if i want.
9. It sucks when your internet isn't working, but you get so much done when you get away from the computer for a dayyy!
10. I deal with stress very well.
11. The dogpark next to my apartment is not guuuud...not guuud at all!
12. My dad is wanting a kayak.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Hey blogaroos! :D Today has been busy busy busy. I've been running errands all day. Well, my mum and mamaw have been running errands all day, I've been their chauffeur. That tends to happen a lot these days. haha! I had to make a lot of phone calls though, so it was ok. :) My mamaw bought me some chacos, they are so cute, so comfortable!! Blue wi some brown. I can't wait to wear em'.

I've been sending out applications and resumes like crazzzzyyyy all afternoon. I'm on a mission. Gots to find a job by August. Gots to! :)) {ohhh btw, my meeting went really guuud yesterday}. I'm still jobless, but at least the meeting went well. Haha!

I hope ya'll have a happy & splendid memorial day weekend!

pool+friends = one guuud day

“In the end, nothing we do or say in this lifetime matters as much as the way we have loved one another.” — Daphne R. Kingma

Hey blogbugs!

Today has been a fuuuun day spent with lovely friends! This afternoon I went and talked with one of my dear sweet friends from work {well xwork}. She is so uplifting and always has the right words. I wish I was like that, "sometimes i i i be qwarterback". haha!

Then it was poooooooool time w Leslie. Yeyeyeyey! It was pretty entertaining today, between our drama, conversations, and unwanted company hahaha! There were a bunch of loud kids running around today...with spray guns, acting like wild animals! And Leslie turned out to be a victim! LOL! I busted out laughing. Leslie's response, "Remember the days when there were kiddie pools and adult pools? We need to go back to that." haha, so true!

mood = free

"We must let go of the life we have planned,
so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.”
-Joseph Campbell
Hey dahlings!
I woke up this morning to a gahhhhgeous, and I do mean gahhhhgeous day. And it occured to me, that if everything going on in my life right now {i'm sure i'll explain all of it someday} had never happened, then I probably would have NEVER changed my "so so, i'm just ok with" life. I would've came up with some excuse to stay, or I would've been too scared about the unknown. So I can't help but be a little grateful for my situation. Ok ok, I'll just tell you {the short version}...i lost my job. A job that at one point I really really luuved. But somewhere a long the line, I'm not real sure when it happened, I stopped. That's why most of my blogs lately, have all talked about change. I wanted one, bad..and well that's what I got. haha! I just hadn't planned on it going quite like this. But I also think it happened like this for a reason. I'm all about that lately. Things happen for a reason. This is the push I needed, and I really believe that something good..really good... is going to come from it. When I woke up this morning, that's all I could think about. I can do whatever I want with my life now. I'm free! If you've never had this feeling before, I highly recommend it.

10 things I learnt this weekend

Hey bloggaroos! I unexpectedly had a longer weekend this weekend *winks* I've learnt a lot of things the past couple of days - about myself, about people, and about life in general.

1. People will flat out, cold face, lie {even bosses} to save their ooown butts. I will never be that way, ever.
2. When a bad & wrongful situation occurs, people reallyyy stand together for what's right. :))
3. Sometimes it's ok to spend the whole day on a couch, with a blanket & lots of movies, snuggled w puppiez.
4. Indian Summer, such a guuuuuud movie {you seriously have to see it}
5. A lake trip wi the family can save the day!
6. Despite everything going on in my life right now, I still have an excited feeling. Like something really fuuuuunn and great might happen now.
7. And despite everything, I still feel like this has given me a big window of opportunity. A chance to chase something that's going to make me really happy.
8. I'm thinking about a totally different career. But what?
9. I need to decide if I want to go ahead and sublet my apartment or not. Hmmmm???
10. "God won't make a mountain I can't climb. It's getting better all the time."

"God brings us to the place of total dependence upon Him to demonstrate that He is totally dependable."

lieing = so not cool

Hey ya'll!
I know I haven't blogged in a few days {I have a really good excuse though}. This has been a really really crappy couple of days. I've not been upset, I've just been super mad. I was COMPLETELY done WRONG at work. I mean really, I can't even believe it. People uhhhhhhmaze me. You can't lie & treat people like crap & get by with it. Sorry to disappappoint, but it doesn't work that way. Wbat goes around comes around. KARMA! Remember that people.

Lie: to make a statement that one knows is false, esp. with intent to deceive.

On the positive side, I was all ready for a change anyway. Now there is nothing holding me back, no regrets. I can do what I want now w nothing to lose.

3. Robin Hood {the old version w/ Kevin Costner} is an awesome movie.
4. Sometimes a good quote can save the day.
5. There are too many shoes I want at the moment.
6. Laughing Cow cheese is so delicious and so addictive.
7. I can not sleep late anymore. I'm awake by 9:00, even on Saturdays. Ugh!

Current addictions

1. My blog - yepp I don't know why I didn't start one years ago. :D
2. Trip Planning - the travel bug has bit me hard. Here recently I've found myself constantly googling pictures of different countries {England, France, Italy, Scotland}. I love google! What did we all do w/o it before.
3. Ireland - ever since I saw the movie, ps i love you, I've wanted to go to Ireland {and marry a man with an irish accent} haha! Hopefully all my trip daydreaming will come true someday soon.
4. Flashforward - this is one of my favorite tv shows. It's kinda weird {like lost}, they have the same producer so that makes sense, but flashforward is not nearly as confusing. Thursdays at 8:00. Watch! :)
5. Toms - these shoes are sooo neat and sooo cute.

{don't put off your happy life}

Hey blogaroos!

So I'm learning fast, that life is too short {too short to be anything but really really happy}. For a while now, but especially here recently, I've had this hunger for change. Which is really unusual for me, because I typically hate change. Routine is something I've always found really comforting and stable, and blessed to have actually. But if you remember from a previous blog, I've been learning that I may be tooo comfortable in my routines. I almost feel like this is causing me to miss out on something exciting and lovely. Like what? I dont know.
I've just never been brave enough to do something that involves a little risk, to step away from my "comfort zone" and go for it! I'll talk & talk about things, but I never follow through. I analyse and usually talk myself out of it, usually throwing a lot of "what if's" around. Which I hate "what if's", I don't even let my students say the words. :) Haha!
SOOOOO, w/ that said.....
A couple of weeks ago...I heard some news {I may share with yoo someday} that made me upset, nervous, and downright worried. And even though a lot of things are still unsure w it, today I realized that this could be my sign! My sign to actually make a change!! To be brave and do something that I've always wanted to do. Something I actually love, something that I actually enjoy and something that actually makes me really happy. And stop doing something that i'm just "ok" with. I'm not real sure what I want to be doing with my life right now, but I definitely feel a change coming.
And whatever it is, I'm young & single & there's no better time than now. I don't want to be someone who has a "bucket full of regrets."

field day

Hey dahhhlins. I hope you're having a fabulous Wednesday! x

Right now I am laying on the couch {the fan on super high} watching Oprah, & have never been more happyy to get my shoes and socks off. :) My feet are literally pulsing. haha!! We had field day at school today {my class won tug of war} whoohoo! It was fun, but me oh myy! Plus, I did aerobics this afternoon. Go me, but shewwwww! Exhausted, yeppp!

Tonight, I'm having dinner w/Elizabeth and Leslie. Yeyeyeyeye! We haven't hang out in what seems like forever, so I'm super excited to see em'! :)))

This month my one goal is to be calmer and less stressed {which, for me, is easier said than done}. I'm hoping to stop myself from over reacting and worrying about things that are really not worth a mental meltdown and are really out of my control anyway.

Mum's Day

Hey blogaroos! And Happy Mum's Day to all you sweet mums!

Today has been a funn day! I woke up, had a photoshoot w frank (it didn't go too well - just look at our picture). Haha!! Had lunch w the fam, then Matt took me and mum on a boat ride. It was kindof chilly, but still a lot of fun. Dad stayed on the dock with the pupsters. Frank was really funny to watch! He didn't like the water at all, every time we tried getting him close to the edge he would flip out. Haha! Sophie, on the other hand, luuved it. She was walking around like she owned the place. :) Me, mom, and dad think she can swim. Matt thinks she would sink to the bottom cause she is so fat. haha! She's a little over weight, but I doubt very seriously that she would sink to the bottom. :) I do want to buy her a cute lifejacket for the summah though!

I bought mom some red chucks and a scarf for mum's day. Matt and Justin got her an expresso maker. I'm liking that! Now she can make us some iced lattes. Woooohoooo! :)

traci's graduation

Hey blogbugs!

So I just about didn't go to Traci's graduation today. Matt was feeling really bad this am, soooo I was gunna stay home w him (and be a good sister:). I don't know how I would've actually helped though (i mean i probably would've just annoyed him actually *laughs*), my mum didn't want him to be by himself though. But he got to feeling somewhat better, so me, mom, dad, and justin left, and matt..well, he didn't. He stayed home.

I really loved driving through Kentucky (the barns, horses, cows, fences, all of it, very peaceful).

I got Traci a "Working Girl's Survival Kit." You can buy them online, but I just put one together myself, & it turned out quite cute. I bought a kapoodle, and put a bunch of girly stuff in it, stuff that might come in handy when she starts workingggg, like:

  • a cute headband

  • blush

  • shout wipes

  • hand lotion

  • lip balm

  • nail polish

  • kleenex

  • tic tacs

  • dental floss

  • mirror

  • pain reliever

  • hand sanitizer

  • bobby pins, etc. :)

jelly bracelets

Hey blogarooos!
Today after work, I went to Walgreens and bought a pack of jelly animal bracelets. These are so cool, even if they are a kid trend. :)) They are stretchy little bracelets in the shapes of animals. They come in zoo animals, pet animals (which is what i got), ocean animals, dinosaurs, etc etc. When they're on your arm, they look like normal jelly bracelets, but when you take them off, they're in the shape of an animal. I know I'm a dork, but I had to have some.
Tonight mum and I are watching Leap Year.
This weekend Traci, my brother's girlfriend, is graduating from UK. Yeyeyeye!! Go Traci! :D
Happppy weeekend, darlins!

so long, butterflyyys

Hello Blogaroos!

Today has been a little bittersweet. :) As you know I've had like 30 caterpillars in my classroom the past couple of weeks (and its been so amazing actually getting to watch the whole process of them becoming butterflies). Welp, today we sang them a song for their merry way and then let them fly free. It was the coolest thing. :))

Me, today

Hey Darlings, hope everyone is having a gr8 day! Today I:

  • love the new mello yello cans (they're very retro looking, have you seen them?)
  • realized there is only 15 days left of school
  • started cleaning my classroom
  • made butterfly food (yes, the caterpillars are butterflies nowww-so cool)
  • went to a work party
  • went shopping w leslie
  • ate at outback
  • bought my mum's mum's day present
  • went to target and spent too much money on mum's day cards... :)
  • got the wrong coffee at starbucks (which turned out to be an ok thing)
  • heard a great quote, "Be yourself, even if it's not a cool self." - Leslie Price (she is so wise:)))

10 things I learnt this weekend

1. I luv red convserse.
2. Going 6 days w/o seeing the pups is way tooooo long.
3. You're never too old to play on a playground.
4. Some people from high school never change.
5. Next time I tie dye shirts, I will put the rubberbands on myself. Kids putting them on = a solid colored shirt, a lot of wasted time, and a trip to walmart where you have to spend $40 on all new shirts (thus one unhappy girl, oh, and one unhappy mum)
6. I can get annoyed enufff to drop the "S Bomb" in front of my mamaw and mum. hehe!
7. Avatar is one of my favorite movies.
8. I really like wearing blue nailpolish these days.
9. I need a new purse.
10. Most of the time, love really is all you need :)

Tie dyed shirts complete = one happy mum!

Movie Moment

Jake Sully: I see you.
Neytiri: I see you.

Today I went to Target. I came out w 2 gift cards, a white shirt to tie dye, and 2 movies my mum had me pick up.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past several months, you've heard of Avatar. :) And if you've seen it, you might've loved it (like me). What's not to love about this movie? omg, uhhmayzing.
Earthlings are running out of natural resources, so they have to seek other planets. Jake is sent to Avatar to learn the Pandora ways, gain their trust, so they can take over. But he falls in love along the way, and the rest is history.
I have so many favorite scenes (but without giving too much info*winks*), I really loved the first time Jake went to Avatar, he is running around like a maniac. It's a really funny and happy scene. And the floating mountains, woahhh!
You should see it! :)
