10 things I learnt recently

I can't believe it's been over a week since I blogged last! That goes to show how busy I've been lately. Between my new job, Josh, and wedding planning...I'm a little off balance these days. Not a bad "off balance", there's just not as much free time. Ok so anyway, let's play a little catch up! :) Somethings I learnt recently...

1. When Josh has to go against my brothers in football, it's a little awkward. I wish both teams could've won... but congrats cougars! :) Proud of ya'll!
2. I love my new "dragons" sweat shirt mom got me. I can't wait to wear it to school and football games! Come on colder weather, what are you waiting on?
3. Your Highness and Something Borrowed, both really guud movies. Josh and I laughed so so hard at Your Highness. Watch it, you'll laugh too!
4. I found the PERFECT bridesmaids dresses made by freepeople. Ah, they were just so perfect, but too short on Stephanie. So they're a no go, but I found another BCBG dress that might possibly be the winner! But I'm not sure about black.?? Hmmm. I promised to stay away from it. Oh well.
5. I got some awesome jewelry that goes with my dress really good (another thing to mark off the list) *big smile*. I just have a vintage piece to find.
6. Picking out the wording for the wedding invitations has been driving me mad! It's nuts to think this has been one of the hardest things so far. Haha!
7. Mom and I decided that my flower arrangements are so simple we can do them ourselves. I just need someone for the bouquets, boots, and mossy stuff.
8. Grandmother has been sending me and Josh lots of food to eat through the week, which means I've got to spend more time with Josh. Which I love.
9. I've been on THE wedding diet for 2 weeks now, and feeling so much better.
10. Josh and I reserved our condo for Hawaii! Ah man I can't wait!

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. My man definitely looks his part, just wish I could say the same for his players. Another lose :/ ugh!
2. Contagion, great movie!
3. I got a wedding dress! :) What a relief!!!! :) It's almost exactly what I had pictured! Very simple, casual, linen like material, shabby chic. I love it. Ahh! And so happy to have that over with. Big relief!
4. Lunch at Cracker Barrell has slowly become a new tradition for me and Josh! :) The Sunday homestyle chicken, gosh it's guuuuuud!
5. Ive never watched Modern Family, but it sure won a lot of Emmy Awards.
6. Josh's grandmother sent me a gob of food last night (lasagna and cheesecake).
7. I never have time to go home anymore, and I think my little pup Sophie is forgetting me. :/
8. It's cheaper to make thank you cards, than buy them...plus, it's more personal.
9. I really wanna see Something Borrowed, Josh and I went to 3 different Red Boxes the other day trying to find it. :)
10. Dieting, so far so good!

THE dress.

Today as I was out running some errands, I decided to check out one of the bridal shops. Surprisingly, I found 2 dresses that were almost exactly what I had in mind. But what you have in mind isn't always so flattering once you get it on haha! Which was my case today, most definitely. So as I was fixing to walk out of the store, kinda bummed, I saw a dress that caught my eye...sooo lovely, but not what I pictured my dress to look like (at all). But I tried it on anyway (leslie's advice). And guess what...I fell in love. It's kinda perfect for me. It's simple and elegant, vintage looking, and really comfortable :) I'm so happy! Mom and mamaw are going to come up tomorrow so I can try it on for them. And if they love it as much as I do...I think I found THE one.

But I'll still go to Dash for the Dress next week...just for the fun! :)

Thankful Thursday

1. The chilly weather - Fall is so amazing, it's my favorite time of year by far. There's so many happy things about it...football (being number 1of course :)), halloween, guud yummy food, cuter clothes, boots, coats and layers, and.. engagement pictures *winks*
2. Hobby Lobby - I've been finding so many wonderful things there lately for the wedding reception. Today I found the little clothes pins I've been searching for online...for weeks! Awesome. So awesome!
3. Family - I swear, me and Josh have the best family in the whole world. We are so truely blessed to have so much help for our special day.
4. Josh - He has totally changed my life, made me a better person, and I thank God for him everyday. I'm so excited to start this journey with him.
5. Oh, and I'm also SO thankful that I woke up when I did this morning. Waking up at 7:30, when you're suppose to be at work at 7:50. Uhm, it sucks. Luckily I was only late by 10 minutes.

random dress shopping

Today I feel....so tired. o0pen house makes for a long busy day (& the bed is calling my name, yawwwn).
Last night...I met Leah at Starbucks to talk about flowers for the wedding! I feel like she is on the same page as me and has a lot of the same style as me too, so hopefully that will work out :) Afterwards, me and Leslie went on a random wedding dress shopping trip. And I tried on "the kate middleton dress." It is an absolutely beautiful dress, but do I want to have a replica of kate middleton haha? Plus, I have something totally different in mind. That's the hard thing about wedding dresses. When you have something in mind, you don't have much of an open mind for something else. ;)
Looking forward to...taking a bubble bath, reading a book, and going to bed. Oh, and seeing Josh tomorrow. I swear, I miss him. I'm so use to him being here now that it doesn't feel right otherwise. Geez, I never thought I'd be "one of those girls." haha!

This weekend, we were talking about how March seems like it's far away...but it's really not. It'll be here before we know it. I've still got a lot of wedding planning to do, but I think I'm doing pretty good so far. Lots of things are taken care of! Like, the:

this week, I need to...
....talk with the birdsongs about ceremony music

...start looking for my jewelry (i know exactly what i want:)

...start looking for a wedding ceremony venue (yeah, that should probably be #1 on my list)

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. The weather is finally getting better, it's cooling down ;) I'm so ready for fall, and boots, and scarves, and coats!
2. Football games are so much better in cooler weather.
3. My man is one smokin man when he is out on the football field (yea, i guess i knew this before this weekend). But seriously, what is it about a football coach? :)))) hehe.
4. Josh and I had a blast in bberry with his parents, as usual. We ate out on the patio at Angelo's (perfect night), fed the cutest stray boston terrier, laughed at his dad (a whole lot).
5. Brings me to my next thing I learnt this weekend, Josh's dad is the funniest man I've ever known. He had us laughing all night...in tears!
6. Driving home from bberry at 1am, is kindof hard.
7. My hair is so long right now, & I'm really loving it.
8. One of the coach's wifes gave me a lemon drop recipe that I'm really excited to try. If all goes well, it'll fit perfect in the party favors I'm making for the wedding.
9. 10 years ago today (sept.11), our country was attacked. I can't believe 10 years has gone by.
10. Dash for the Dress is coming up Sunday.Sept 25. Woohoo! Different knoxville wedding venues are there, with dresses from 200-600 dollars. Amazin.

Friday, finally!

Even though this was a short week (no school Monday), it's felt really long. But I've noticed that short weeks are like that. Why? Anyway, I was so happy to see Friday today! :)

Last night: Josh came over after football. We lounged around, and looked at our honeymoon location. HAWAII, here we come! I'm beyond excited. So thankful to have family that loves us enough to send us there :))) Haha!

Today: Mom and mamaw came to visit me at school. Very nice Friday surprise.

Tonight: I went to Josh's game. It didn't turn out so good...again! I hate they are losing right now. And what's worse, my brother's team is losing right now too. Ugh! But I still love watching Josh coach & waiting for him after the game...I feel like I'm in high school again hehehe! ;)

Today as I was driving home in the pouring rain, something hit me. I mean really hit me, like it hasn't before. I'm getting MARRIED! To someone, who 2 years ago, was a total stranger. But now, is my very best friend. I'm watching my life take off in a direction that I used to only dream about. It's the sweetest feeling I've ever known. Today I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole wide world.

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. The inservice day Friday was actually not too bad. Probably cause I got to see and hug my man. I also got to hangout and catchup with an old friend.
2. Dividing my time between 2 football games didn't happen Friday night. I stayed at the CC/AC game. Even though I hated to miss Josh's game, CC was really fun, with a lot of different things going on since it was a big rivalry game (black out). Too bad we lost. :/ Josh lost too. :/
3. Josh knocking on my door Saturday morning at 1:30 might've scared me to death, but it was a good surprise.
4. Antique books cost way more than I thought...some running $40!
5. My phone has officially kicked the bucket...again!
6. Josh and I hungout and watched some of the Vols game with the old CHS football coach Saturday night. His little girl fell inlove with Josh! (not that i blame her) Haha!
7. Chop House is awesome.
8. Rainy Sundays are so nice. Pizza, movie, my man! Doesn't get any sweeter.
9. I found the CUTEST old vintage looking signs today for the wedding reception, at Hobby Lobby *big smile*
10. I wish I had every Monday off from work. Wouldn't that be swell? :)

Productive

This week has been suuuuch a busyy week. Actually all my weeks are busy these days, teacher by day, wedding planner by night. Haha! I shouldn't expect anything different :) But I'm loving every minute. And still, so far, wedding planning has been really fun...and my new job...awesome. here's a little recap of my week, and you'll see why I'm even happier than usual that its a long weekend. This week I...

...ate at outback with mom and Susan
...went and saw The Help with mom, Traci, donajo, and Susan (looved it, such a great movie). We laughed a lot, and cried some too.
...got my ring sized down (even though its still a tad too big).
...got my car worked on, and had to get a rental (and fell inlove with the newest jetta)
...locked myself out of my apt because I left my key in MY car when I got the rental. Lucky I got in right away though.
...went out for pizza with my main man
...reserved the place for our reception :)))))))) huge smile for this.
...got a DJ for the reception
...got a photographer!!
...might've possibly found someone to make the cake, I gotta show her the picture I'd what I want first.
...looked at some wedding dresses, but no luck. I think that's going to be the toughest part of the whole planning, finding THE dress.
...went antique shopping for some wedding decor, and had lots of luck with that! Too bad antiques are so expensive.
...and tomorrow, I've got inservice all day, and football games all night :) can't wait to see my man do his thing, I swear I'm so proud. There's just something about watching him coach, I luuuv it. Oh. And ill get to see my brothers too. I'm splitting my time up tomorrow night hehe.
