redirection

Hey blogbugs! BoyF says that everyone needs to go through "the valley" at least once in their life because that's where you learn the most about yourself. Well, I don't know if I'm in a valley really, because everything is so wonderful right now, magical actually (except for one part of my life)....but... if I've ever been there, i guess it's now.

I really hate to even say that because so much of what I've prayed for for soooo long, well my whole life, I finally have. It's just that the part I'm unhappy with is so big - sometimes I let it consume me. But BoyF is right, I have learned a lot from the situation...things I really needed to learn too. I'm thankful for that. But I still want to change the situation I'm not happy with. And believe me, I'm working on it. But in the meantime, I'm changing my attitude. Because everything happens for a reason, and that I'm a firm believer in.

I need to redirect my energy and thoughts to all the wonderful magical things in my life. And that's what I'm gunna do.

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. To be savvy on Black Friday, you've got to get up and go super early.

2. Target, however, did have DVD's for 3 bucks! I got one for BoyF (Stepbrothers)

3. Menchies has really good frozen yogurt.

4. Love and Other Drugs is a pretty good film, but not at all what I expected.

5. Leslie and I won a free movie watching voucher!

6. I might be obsessed [again] with old school nintendo. Mario Brothers 3, has kicked my butt this weekend.

7. Eclipse comes out December 4th on DVD! Can't wait!

8. I really need a fireplace in my apartment. :)

9. I need to start preparing myself for next weekend!!

10. BoyF is sick again! Maybe from the Mexican we had last night. :/ Poor guy!

Thankful Thursday: Thanksgiving edition :)

Happy Turkey day blogbugs! There is so much to be thankful for. No way could I name everything. I'm truely in a wonderful place this year.

So thankful for:

• an AMAZINGLY adorable, thoughtful, and funny BoyF that makes even the worst days good.
• coooool friends that I adore
• an apartment I luv walking into
• a new car that i've wanted for a long time
• a job that allows me to afford the things that make me happy

• & good tasting coffees, that make the mornings not so hard

Thanksgiving

Today: I've been so excited about the Thanksgiving holiday, so it's been a great day thus far! I had to work, but only for 1/2 a day, and I only had 4 kids. :) And it's relaxing to think I don't go back until Monday!! Ahh! I went to mom's after work and fixed a blueberry cheesecake for BoyF. She gave me instructions (step-by-step of course haha), but I did it all by myself. Pretty easy actually.
Tonight: Let the Thanksgiving holiday begin! BoyF is cooking me dinner! *big smile* I'm taking the cheesecake.

I'm feeling soooo extremely Thankful this year. I love my family and pups, I've got amazingly great friends, and a sweeeet BoyF that I adore. :) And I'm really excited and hopeful about life these days. So very thankful! Happy Thanksgiving blogaroos!

Last night: BoyF and I talked on the phone for 3.5 hours!! It was the best conversation(s), so well worth being sleepy this mornin. :) I think we finally got off the phone at 2am haha! I love life talks like that. Ah!

Today: It's been rainy. The kind of day I want to snuggle up with on a couch. Instead, I spent a lot of time in my cluttered head. If you want something, you have to go out and get it right? So I was gonna take a 1/2 day off work this afternoon, and take charge of my life a little - with something that could possibly make me really happy and do wonders with a certain aspect of my life (the only aspect I'm not real happy with right now). But turns out, it has to wait until Monday. But that's ok. At least I have some initiative now! :)

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. The MAVS season is over! *sigh*
2. BoyF is so fun to go on a trip with!
3. And he handles getting lost a lot better than the average man. :)
4. Biltmore took like 7 years to build, and it has over 40 bathrooms! Woah.
5. Angelo's (in Baneberry) has the best chicken salad I've ever ate.
6. BoyF is a hunter. Never would've thought it *laughs*
7. He drinks coffee all day long haha! (black)
8. Me and him are very much a like when it comes to dating, which sometimes causes confusion. haha!
9. Man on Fire is a pretty good movie, with Denzel Washington.
10. I'm reallyyy excited about life right now!

Biltmore

Hiii blogbugs! Let me just say, this was probably my favorite weekend of all time! Seriously. :) I wish I could just relive it over and over.

BoyF picked me up yesterday about 11. He was actually on time [not his normal 15 minutes late haha], so I wasn't quite ready. But we got on the road shortly haha! We took Grandmother's fancy shmancy car, riiding in styyyle! On the way there, we stopped and ate breakfast/lunch or should i say brunch at ihop :)! BoyF has me wanting to try new foods. Things I never thought in a million zillion years I would like...i now love! :) So I had an omelette for the first time in my life haha i kid you not, it was turkey and bacon and so yummy! He had a spinach omelette (i won't be trying that anytime soon) haha! BoyF switched fruit cups with me because his had more pineapple, my favorite. Ain't he sweet? ;) We got a little lost on the way to Biltmore. Grandmother's GPS failed us haha! But we got to see a lot of Downtown Asheville, which is a pretty cool place. And we still did ok, our tickets were for 3 and by the time we picked our tickets up, and got on the shuttle, we got there at 3:05. :) Just in the nick of time!

Biltmore was absolutely uhhhhhmayyzing! Those rooms are filled with so much detail and character and stories. Ah! Loved it! It was a good time to go too, all the Christmas stuff was up. I don't know how many xmas trees there were, but at least 3 in every room we went in. My favorite was the breakfast room. Something about the fireplace and furniture was just so quaint. Afterwards, we got ice cream and headed to the Winery. BoyF and I loved Antler Hill Village. We tried the wine, then just walked around and looked at all the xmas lights and had some hot chocolate. Then we went to this place called Cedric's Tavern for an appetizer. I had plamenta (?) cheese for the first time. I loved it! Who would've thought? haha! Then we headed to Baneberry for dinner at Angelo's. That place is so great! BoyF let me drive home. haha! I learnt real fast that he likes to tell people how to drive. lol!

It was such a great funn & happy day!

Today is going to be a fuuunnn day! BoyF and I are headed to Biltmore! Soooo excited! Happy happy happy Saturday ya'll!

thankfulness is the best medicine.

Sometimes in life you find yourself in sticky situations, you just do...but thankfulness is the best medicine. I've been reminding myself of this a lot lately, and I've been trying to do better about focusing on all of my many blessings. I should be slapped for all the things I've always took for granted. So I've decided to add a Thankful Thursday to my blog. Every Thursday I'm going to blog about all the things I'm grateful for that week (however big or small). But...I'm gunna start today! :)

Today I'm thankful for....

1. A random txt message from Boyf - He sent me a txt this morning, telling me to have a good day [he very rarely sends me a text during the workday]. So when he does, it literally makes my day. He couldn't have had more perfect timing today either. I've had a doooozy of a day, but his message still had me grinning from ear to ear. :) So thankful for his random txt msg this mornin. :) It made this day a lot less stressful.

2. My car and good smells- After smelling and being around little grosssss kids all day long, I love being able to get into a car that I love, and taking in the refreshing smell of sweet pea. Ahh! So much better than the poo smell I deal with most days. After school today, I just sat in my car for a few seconds before driving off and enjoyed (true story) haha! So thankful for good smells. :)

So last night: Boyf and I watched Sunday night football (of course) haha! The Patriots were playing against...well...someone haha! Boyf and I had a debate about Tom Brady's hair. I think it looks really guud long, Boyf thinks that he looks like a girl *laughs*.

So Boyf is still sick, I didn't stay over very long last night. But when I left we winded up talking on the phone for 2 hours! Such guud convseration! I mean, I've known that I really like him, but last night I realized that he kinda means something to me. Ahhh! ....I'm thooper excited about him! :) Ok ok, enuf mushy luv stuffff.

I procrastinate so bad!

I'm becoming an inspired baker. :) Papaw loved them!

1. AC is doing sososo good in the playoffs!

2. Free refills on coffee at Weigles for just $.89, if you reuse your cup [i'll be stopping there every morning now]

3. I can put up all my christmas decorations in 30 minutes! haha
4. I'm so addicted to buying jeans lately.

5. Edy's mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best everrr! MmmM! I could happily live on it for a while.

6. Spending a lot of time with my mamaw on the weekend = really good eating.

7. Baking is a lot of fun (who knew?)

8. Outback is still my favorite restaurant.

9. My mamaw and papaw have been married for 54 years (today). Happy Anniversary!

10. Seeing Boyf on Sunday instead of Saturday is weird, but better than not seeing him at all. ;)

cancelled road trip :/

Last night: I went to the AC game! They beat Powell 24-21. Such a fuuuun game! No one was expecting them to win, which made things even more exciting. Afterwards, I came home and started packing for my and Boyf's road trip (which turned out to not even happen) *sigh* I was looking sooo forward to it too dangit!

This morning: Boyf called with bad news, he's sick and had to call off our trip. We didn't know where we were gunna go exactly. We talked about Nashville, or Biltmore, or Cherokee. All I know is I was totally bumbed out when he called this morning. I might've acted like a baby on the phone too. Haha! On the brighter side, mom and mamaw brought me chick-fil-a breakfast! Mmm. Aren't chicken minis the greatest things ever invented! :)

Today: I went shopping, ran into mom and mamaw at TJ MAXX. :) Got some xmas shopping done. We ate lunch at PF Changs (good stuff). Then we came back to my apartment and put up my christmas tree and decorations! Wheeeei! I might've jumped the gun, but it's my favorite time of year. And if you wait until after Thanksgiving, I don't think you get enough time with it right. :)

Tonight: Since boyf is sick, I'm all curled up on the couch having a Julia Roberts movie night. I miss him, but it's nice just having a chilled saturday night for once. I actually baked some cookies too..... (just realized that i've ate realllllyyyyyy good today) haha!

Boyf and litton's!

Some nights are simply just wonderful, "the kind you keep in a pocket by your heart and treasure till you're old and grey". Last night was such a night. Boyf and I hadn't seen each other all week, so needless to say, I was ready to see him! :) We ate at Litton's. So yummy! I had a hamburger, boyf had some type of chicken sandwich. We shared a babyjane afterwards, which was quite yummy too! We had good conversations, mainly about our relationship. Which is hard for me, but healthy to have on occasion. I think it's safe to say that I'm a little head over heels!

4. Right now I would really like...a fireplace, some scented Yankee candles, a cup of coffee, the Christmas holiday to be here already, a Christmas tree in my living room, and I'd also really like to be cuddled up w Boyf *smiles*

10 things i learnt this weekend

1. I really like watching Boyf coach football *smiles*
2. He gets really upset when he loses a game, especially to the MAVS! :/ Note to self: Don't take anything personal during this time. Haha!
3. Traditional Halloween trick-or-treating isn't all that popular anymore. Apparently trunk-or-treating is the way to go.
4. I didn't see one trick-or-treater this year. Weird.
5. Race for the Cure is a really fun event. Next year I will be sure to wear pink.
6. My favorite Halloween candy this year, nerds and laffy taffy.
7. An unexpected dinner date with Boyf can save the day.
8. He really liked his treat/relaxation basket which included: football oreos, (a movie) Get Him to the Greek, pajama pants, candle, and BR.
9. We changed our minds about Charleston...looks like we're going to Biltmore. Neither of us have been there. So excited. haha!
10. Getting to sleep in, just an hour later on a Monday, is so amazing!!!
