Day? Night?

So I've been bragging on Ella Jane like crazy. Telling everyone how good she is (and she really is)...she sleeps all DAY! LOL! Well, I guess I let her sleep a little too much during the day because now it seems that her days and nights are most definitely mixed up. The last 3 nights has equaled almost zero sleep for me and Josh. And poor Josh, he has to get up and go to work. So today, I started a new schedule for our little Ella. I found a blog where this woman swears that "schedule" is key. And this makes perfect sense too! I'm all about a schedule. I live by one every day as a teacher. And I happen to know for a fact that school aged kids do better when there is a schedule. Actually, there whole day is off if there schedule gets off. So, what would make babies any different? Today my goal was to keep Ella Jane up more. Duh! Sleep less during the day equals sleeping more at night (well, hopefully)! Today, she is up 1.5 hours for feeding and changing and playing, then I put her down to nap for 1.5 hours (then up for 1.5 hours, etc). The lady on the blog swears by this. By the time your child is 6 weeks old, they are suppose to be sleeping 6-8 hours straight through the night (in a cradle mind you). :) I could handle that.

10 things I learnt this weekend

1. Ella Jane had her first real outting. That didn't involve appointments.
2. She was so good at cracker Barrell for moms bday. She slept the whole time.
3. Everyone loved her skinny jeans ;)
4. Mom had a good bday! She liked the Kricket cartridge we got her.
5. I really need some new hair do's. My hair, like Ella Jane's, is out of control these days. Lol
6. I love the miracle blanket.
7. Meredith let me borrow her wedge. So that with the miracle blanket, Ella Jane slept in her cradle for 6 straight hours. Ahhh!
8. I've lost almost all of my baby weight. About 6 pounds to go.
9. I love Ella Jane's pictures. Southern Charm did such a great job. I'll never decide which to order.
10. Ella Jane is really eating a lot. It's hard for me to keep up. Ha!

Things I've learnt lately

1. Ella Jane is a wonderful baby. We really lucked out. :)
2. The girl loves that pacy and sleeping with her mommy.
3. Babies come with a lot of stuff!! A whole lotta stuff!
4. Carrying a carseat is serious business.
5. I would've never made it without my moms help the last 2 weeks. The whole family too.
6. People (total strangers) really have no mind to come up and touch your baby! Ugh germs!
7. Ella Jane is like me and Josh. She loves her sleep. The last 2 nights she has slept 7 hrs straight. And that's with me finally waking her up!
8. my friends from work and bunco have really treated me and Josh to some delicious meals the last 2 weeks. Those meals have been life savers too.
9. I might could get use to not working everyday. :) just saying. Maybe I could do part time ;)
10. My dad has done a lot of work around our condo! I'm telling ya, having a baby is great stuff. :)
11. A space heater is amazing!
12. Ella Jane, I kid you not, is already raising and holding her head up! It's insane.
13. I want all our visitors to keep coming!

Josh to the rescue

Ella Jane is changing everyday! She still looks just like her daddy though (I'm secretly hoping she starts looking like me as she gets older, at least a little bit more like me). She sleeps so much. And even though we are going to try breaking her from this really soon, like this weekend...she sleeps 6 hours straight through the night (but in my arms)! Ha!

Monday was a rough day. I woke up thinking I had caught the flu. Chilling, fever, nautious, the whole package. luckily my mom and Josh were here. First Josh took Ella Jane to the doctor. Then he took me to the doctor. Long story short, mistitus (?) is nooooo fun! Feeling so much better today though. Ella Jane and I have been on our own, just relaxing.

Just look at these 2!! It doesnt get much better than this! Life is so sweet currently.

Ella Jane is here!

My sweet baby girl arrived on January 9, 2013 at 9:33 pm. She weighed 7 pounds and 11ounces. And is totally perfect. That whole night/day of laboring is pretty much a blur, but I will say that I got the epidural early. So I didn't feel much. The hardest part was the pushing (which lasted over 2 hours)! That was miserable. But I had a good coach (Josh) and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There is nothing like this whole mommy thing! It's the best thing in the world.

Ella Jane is such a sweet baby. She only cries when we change her diaper and clothes. The rest of the time she is content. She loves her pacy and her swing. The whole family is in pure heaven. She has brought so much joy. And every day I learn more and more about taking care of her. It's getting easier every day. :)

Oh and I could really get use to all this food people have brougt us! Delicious!!

Monday. Back to work.

So today I went back to work, my first day back since the holidays. I gotta admit, when I left school the Friday before Christmas, I was prepared to not see that place for a while haha. I really thought that Ella Jane would be here by now (where is that girl? haha)! But nontheless, there I was today for inservice (no kids). This does mean an easier day though...and I got to see all my teaching friends and catch up. :) They couldn't believe I was there, and they really couldn't believe that I plan on being there up until Ella Jane arrives. Haha! Baby Update: Currently having a lot of Braxton Hicks (false labor). I'm dialated 2 centimeters, and 80% effaced. It's getting soooo close. No matter what, I'll be meeting my baby girl in like 2 weeks or less. WILD!! And so unreal!! My goal for the week: walk a lot, so maybe I can get this show on the road.

10 things I learnt this weekend

1. I should always have stamps around.
2. Ella Jane is weighing small right now (being in the 22nd percentile). The doctors would like to see her weighing more. So the induction the docs told me I could have (on the 14th) is out of the question. I want to give my sweet girl time to put some meat on her bones.
3. The Foothills Milling Company in Maryville is a really really good restaurant! Expensive but good. Kinda puts me in mind of a restaurant you'd find in charleston. We celebrated Denise's bday there Friday night.
4. I started my resolution this weekend. I actually cooked some things I found on pinterest.
5. Josh loved the dirtcake! And he even loved the pineapple smoothie. :) both are things that I'll put in the books to make again.
6. Josh and I have been talking about moving again. But this time we know it's kinda a must. We don't have enough room in the condo now, with a baby coming. Our storage space is basically nonexistent Haha!
7. I'm loving our MacBook! And the cool photo editors we have on there.
8. I have Ella Jane's newborn pics scheduled with Southern Charm Portraits whenever she decides to come. :)
9. I love having movie night with Josh. Even though our picks for our latest movie night wasnt great. Killer Joe, worst movie ever!! The Words, pretty good movie but with the worst ending.
10. Another friend of mine is pregnant!!!! So happy or her! This is definitely the year for babies and I love it!! I'm hoping Stephanie and Tiffany both have girls. ;)

Resolutions

So this year I didn't really come up with any New Year's Resolutions, at least not until this weekend. :) And I heard on the news that a person shouldn't really have more than 2 or 3 of them, because the more you have, the more likely you are to break them...or to not really stick with them. So I've came up with 3 things that I really want to try doing this year. Things that aren't unrealistic and I really think I can stick with. :) #1. Actually making the desserts, foods, and drinks that I pin on Pinterest. I love cooking and baking, but I feel like I fix the same things over and over. So, this should be a fun resolution. #2. Take more pictures of family and special occasions with my cannon (this shouldn't be hard at all, since Ella Jane will be here haha)! #3. At some point this year, I'd like to print out all my blog posts, all the way from day one. When Ella Jane gets here, blog posts might be few and far between, at least in the beginning, and I want to make sure that I always have these thoughts. One day I'd like to share them with her. Mine and Josh's whole relationship has basically been documented on here. :) *Note: I do want to lose my baby weight (plus a few), and eat healthier blah blah blah, but I'm not putting this on my resolution list. ;)

Baby Shower Pic

Who had the best baby shower? I'm bias (haha), but I sure loved mine. Thanks, mom!
